Business Associates (BAs)

A Business Associate is any entity that conducts businesses on behalf of a Covered Entity, with any exposure to Protected Health Information (PHI), of any medium, and that is not a member of the Covered Entity's workforce. A Covered Entity can also be a Business Associate to another Covered Entity. Examples: Third Party Off-Site Storage Companies.
